Winter is Here

The Third Six Weeks has been such a wonderful time of year to celebrate and give thanks for all that we have. At Corey, we are so grateful for our students, families, teachers, support staff, and the incredible partnership of home and school that make OUR community unique. Parents, thank you for sharing your children with us!

In November, we enjoyed the Dia de los Muertos Fall Carnival, celebrated Veteran’s Day during the PTA program, and bought tons of books during the school Book Fair. Our musical cast did an amazing job at our school performances of ‘Annie Kids’. They even did a nursing home tour to share our love for the arts with our community. Our students are growing into such talented artists, and we are grateful to the Multiple Intelligence (MI) Team for pouring so much into our children.

School Safety

Welcome, Officer Baker!

There is nothing more important than school safety. AISD has taken great strides to improve campus safety. Effective this school year, we have a security officer with us every day. Officer Baker monitors arrival and dismissal, he checks that every exterior door is secured throughout the day, and the students enjoy seeing his big smile in the hallways.

As visitors enter the building, they must first ring the door bell, pass through two secured doors, and be checked in through our Raptor security system which provides a visitor or volunteer badge that they must keep on their person. Then, they are granted access to the building through a third set of doors. Additionally, we conduct regular safety drills to ensure all adults and students feel comfortable responding quickly to situations.

You can help your child at home by being positive when discussing school safety and reminding them that we practice drills to keep them safe. We ask that all visitors also participate in the drills.
