Happy Fall!

The Second Six Weeks has been full of creative learning opportunities in every grade level. Across the school, students have been learning about Hispanic Culture as we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. Our fifth graders are voting on their favorite culturally relevant songs through Music Mania. Kindergarten visited Mainstay Farm. 2nd Grade created “piggy-back songs” to integrate Music, Literacy, and Social Studies. 4th grade is creating a Haunted House Writing Project.

Corey Academy, along with Jones Academy and Gunn Jr. High Academy, danced the day away on National Dance Day at Gunn. We participated in the nation Walk to School Day. We also hosted a school visit from an elementary school in San Antonio who is looking to build an Arts Integrated program similar to ours. This shows us that not only are we touching the lives of our AISD students, but our programming is positively impacting education across the state.

Thank you, PTA

Thank you, PTA for treating our staff with tumblers. This was such a creative way to treat our team. As we pour into our Corey students, we are so grateful that you pour into us!

PTA National School of Excellence

It promotes partnerships between PTAs and schools to enhance students' educational experience and well-being. We appreciate your feedback to improve.

Corey is striving for this award this year and we need YOUR help. PLEASE provide your feedback by taking the survey linked below by Friday, October 27th.

Clinic Policy

We strive to provide the best quality of care to our students in the clinic while also being available to parents as questions or needs arise.

Please help Nurse Brittany and the front office staff to meet this goal by adhering to our updated clinic policy:

In order to protect the confidentiality of children who visit the clinic, we ask that parents and caregivers wait outside the clinic, in the front office, while you wait to speak to the nurse. Please do not go into the nurse’s office as she may be rendering aide to a child.

We ask that only children and staff be in the Clinic.

Change of Dismissal Plans

Safety is extremely important! Corey has a “all hands on deck” approach to ensure that EVERY child dismisses from school according to their dismissal plans.

Please help us ensure your child is getting to where they need to be by providing advanced notice of any change of plans in writing to your child’s teachers.

For same-day changes, please message their teacher in Class Dojo AND call the office prior to 3:00 p.m. Teachers are actively engaged in instruction with students, so may not see your message. By calling the office, we can help get the message to the teachers.
